If you’ve been paying attention to music blogs over the last couple of months you’ve surely come across Esau Mwamwaya’s brand of Afro Pop. He has collaborated with M.I.A, Vampire Weekend, the Ruby Suns and Radioclit (among others) on his forthcoming LP, which has no current release date. “Rain Dance” with M.I.A is a catchy song with lots of bongos, hand-claps, and of coarse M.I.A and Esau Mwamaya’s great lyrical ability. I have to say that I’m excited for this LP, especially after listening to the Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa remix on Esau’s myspace page (Also available on Itunes). Keep an eye out for an official release date in the near future.
