Jay Z "goes hard"

MORE OF THE UPCOMING BLUEPRINT 3: BROOKLYN GO HARD
ok if you know me you know i hate on jay z harder more than neo nazis.  But thus far the 2 singles are my favorite Jay tracks ever.  Of course I would never say I was wrong.  So I'll only offer this insight: I find it no coincidence that Kanye and shortly Lupe release what will likely be 2 of the most historic albums ever as well as LEAD the new age hip hop parade down broad street and all of a sudden Jay Z is pushed to create quality.
Without further ado, Brooklyn Go Hard by Jigga man Ft Santogold followed by my fav Jockin JayZ

WAKE UP MR WEST

Kanye West Says He's 'Voice Of This Generation'

LONDON - Kanye West is to music what Michael Jordan was to basketball _ at least that's what West thinks, in his humble estimation.

"I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice," he said in an interview on Wednesday. "It's me settling into that position of just really accepting that it's one thing to say you want to do it and it's another thing to really end up being like Michael Jordan."

The Grammy-winning rapper-producer said Justin Timberlake had a chance to be music's MVP, but hasn't put out enough material. (Timberlake's last album was in 2006, while West released a CD last year and is releasing his latest _ "808s and Heartbreak" _ on Nov. 24.)

"There were people who had the potential to do it but they went on vacation, so when Justin went on vacation I made albums," he said. "And it just came out to be that."

West, 31, said life has been difficult since his mother's death. Donda West died last November after having plastic surgery.

"I'm just going through balancing that. And I always used to have that support system, you know. My mom would be there; no matter what, she was there before everything," he said. "We were together for like 30 years. And you know now when I'm on that stage and I look out and I say, 'What am I going to do with the rest of my life?' Like when does a real life start?' Because I have sacrificed real life to be a celebrity and to give this art to people, which is great. It is great that I was able to do that, I'm not trying to shun that in any way, but it's definitely a Catch-22 and it's bittersweet."-AP

Yay Ye

I can't express my delight in Kanye's recent announcement.  Not only had he decided to release a new album this year (December originally) but he has now upped the release date to mid November.  I'll take this post to say express how happy that makes me.  I love music.  And appreciate it nearly every genre except McCain music (country).  But as far as I'm concerned everyone in the industry in one way or another is striving towards this man.   Go on with your bad self.  Be as arrogant as you want.  If you weren't aware he set an iTunes record for single sales with "LoveLockdown".  Which everyone just hates so much....

kanye you a genius for this one.

Say what you want about the pretentious, arrogant, bachelor of the world, but denying Kanye West is like fighting gravity.  The man is approaching the Decade mark and he is still pulling tricks, not only musically, but theatrically.  Surprise album, surprise song, and the passion this guy performs and works with blows any and everything out of the water.  He influences music, yea.  But what about fashion, style, design, culture, whites, blacks, green, I don't care.  Big brother was humorous to me.  Jay z will never be what Kanye is to the world right now.  Fuck america, fuck blacks.  This man sits atop his own globe right now and it doesn't look like hell be passing the title.  Ever.
Here is another issue of his Lovelockdown.   Clearly referencing his recent breakup with sweet thang designer Alexis Phifer.  The beat says it.  The lyrics tell it.  December will likely be the Don's most important release ever.

The 2nd skinniest friend I have, DL, "thought this was cool and watched the program.   He [Kanye] actively tried to changed ppls lives that needed help. Being and icon with so much power can be a gift and a curse, looks like kanye proves to use it more as a gift as he uses his celebrity status to better some one elses life besides his own."

Mississippi casinos got items meant for Katrina victims

Mississippi Gaming Commission received items meant for hurricane victims
It was among 11 state agencies that got the household items from FEMA
CNN revealed that FEMA let 121 truckloads of supplies linger in a warehouse
By Abbie Boudreau and Scott Zamost
CNN Special Investigations Unit
(CNN) -- The agency that regulates Mississippi's casinos got pillows, stoves, dinnerware and other items that were originally meant for Hurricane Katrina victims, according to state records obtained by CNN.

The Mississippi Gaming Commission was among 11 state agencies that received the household items from the state's surplus agency.

A breakdown of what each agency received shows the commission took a coffee maker, a case of pillows, wash kits, two dual-burner stoves, plates and utensils, two cases of hand sanitizers and 20 five-gallon containers.

Larry Gregory, executive director of the Mississippi Gaming Commission, could not be reached for comment. But an aide, Becky Clark, said the agency is keeping the items "in case of another hurricane."

The Mississippi Department of Corrections also got 20 coffee makers, 15 tents, four cases of pillows, five cases of men's underwear and other supplies.

A CNN investigation revealed in June that for two years after Hurricane Katrina, the Federal Emergency Management Agency stored 121 truckloads of household items that were purchased or donated for Katrina victims. FEMA eventually declared the items surplus, saying it was too expensive to keep warehousing them, and then offered them to federal agencies and states.

Sixteen states, including storm-ravaged Mississippi, took the items. However, CNN discovered that those items were given to the 11 state agencies, schools, cities and fire departments rather than being distributed to residents trying to rebuild their homes.

Leaders of nonprofit groups helping Katrina victims were astounded when CNN showed them photos of the FEMA supplies. All said they were unaware that such supplies were available.

In response to the CNN stories, the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee said he will hold a hearing on the matter. Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Mississippi, says he plans to ask FEMA officials why the supplies were stored for two years.
